Emily Taylor is a Digital Media student from the Capital District of New York. Her passion for design began in high school when her poster design was chosen for her school’s musical, sparking a lasting interest in visual communication. Since then, she has been drawn to clean layouts, bold typography, and thoughtful design.
She is currently completing her associate’s degree at Hudson Valley Community College, where she has developed strong skills in the Adobe Creative Suite. Her work reflects a particular interest in branding and digital design. In the future, Emily sees herself working as a graphic designer, creating meaningful and visually engaging work across a range of creative industries. She plans to pursue a bachelor's degree in design to further develop her craft. In her free time, she can be found rewatching the same three TV shows for the hundredth time.
My work centers around clean design and a strong use of color. I am drawn to layouts where every element has a clear purpose, and I believe that kind of intentionality enables stronger communication. A cleaner composition lets the message speak for itself.
Color is one of the most important parts of my process. I spend a lot of time experimenting with tones and building palettes, working until the colors guide the eye and create a sense of visual energy that feels cohesive. I am inspired by designers like Veronica Fuerte, whose bold use of color and clean aesthetic push me to be more intentional with my own work.
Over time I have learned to simplify rather than over design. That shift happened as I noticed my busier compositions felt cluttered and unclear. Simplifying pushed me to be more deliberate with every choice, and my style became more refined because of it. As I continue growing as a designer, I want to explore areas like branding and editorial design while maintaining strong color, clear hierarchy, and visual clarity.
